Antonia Lofaso

Chef Antonia Lofaso's culinary creations are an invitation to explore deep into her personal world. The food she serves evokes curiosity that developed from stepping out of the suburban areas of Long Island and into the multi-cultural landscape that is Los Angeles. The belief that cavatelli and carnitas could coexist seamlessly on the same menu conveys a sensibility which continues to evolve. What remains, however, with her food is an unifying view of the future, while also reminiscing about the old. Scopa Italian Roots was opened in 2013 by Lofaso and is influenced from her Italian American tradition. The restaurant was greeted with the warmest welcome. Lofaso has received praise for her interpretation of traditional Italian dishes. Lofaso is described by many as a local favourite that serves up food that's authentic, delicious and warm. Lofaso was trained by some of the best chefs in the world and learned their advanced methods but she never afraid to go against her instincts. She quickly rose through the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago before moving on to work closely with celebrities in various Los Angeles kitchens. In the year 2011, Lofaso joined forces together with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to launch Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. Lofaso has found her home in Black Market, and through her partnerships she has created. Lofaso was able to enjoy the freedom to be creative that she longed for through this partnership. Black Market doesn't have one specific direction. That is their intention. It would start with potato chips flavored with dill, Shishito peppers, and finish with Korean wings. Antonia provides the overwhelming range of flavours. In her long career Lofaso has measured her success by her innate ability to comprehend her audience but still remain in line with her personal style. Her appearances on the Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars demonstrated her capability to communicate herself outside the cooking environment. Since then she's maintained her work in front of cameras as a CNBC's Restaurant Startup Judge as well as regular appearances on the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. In 2012 Lofaso was a part of Penguin for the release of The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Recipes for Quick Delicious homemade Meals The book also tells the story of the obstacles she faced while studying at the elite French Culinary Institute, and simultaneously caring for her child Xea. Lofaso believes that her achievements are the result of her love of cooking. She is in a position to stay in the middle of this field by staying in the kitchen. She has revolutionized the industry's design by creating chef's wear for style and functionality with her own brand Chefletics. The main goal of Lofaso is staying true to her vision. With this in mind she created Antonia Lofaso Catering. This provides customers with the most personal service.
