Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine Morissette was born Ottawa, Canada, on June 1st 1974. Alanis' Greek name is an feminine form of her father's last name, Alan. Her siblings are Chad (Alanis twin) as well as Wade. When she was just 6 she began to play piano. At 21, she became she became a guitarist. In 1986 Alanis released a single titled Fate Stay with Me (b-side: Find The Right Man). As a Canadian dance-pop artist who recorded two albums: Alanis (1991), and the album Now Is The Time (1992). At the age of 18, she relocated from New York to Toronto in Canada, where collaborations with writers and musicians did not work. In 1994, she finally came across the perfect collaborator: music producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who had collaborated with several artists including Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. Following her move to LA her age was 19 years old. Madonna made her debut with "Jagged Little Pill" as a single on June 13th in 1995. Alanis's songs were autobiographical. JLP is the third-highest-seller album of all time and was sold over 30 million times around the globe.
